Workshop Related:

>> How long is your backpacking workshop?

It’s about an hour plus some Q&A.

>> Will the workshop be offered again? Will there be weekend/evening times? Can you provide more advanced notice for the webinar times?
The short answer is YES! We’ll get back to you with more details on Monday about future workshops, but don’t worry we’ve got you covered.

Backpacking Badass Program Related

>> Is your Backpacking Badass Coaching Program and other free events only for women?

While the perspective and language of our programs and events are geared towards women, and you will find mostly women in our program, it’s not exclusive to women.

One of our goals with She Dreams of Alpine and the Become an Outdoor Backpacking Badass Program is to create a space for people with outdoor adventure dreams who do not feel supported in the typical outdoor community, and this includes people of all underrepresented genders. We welcome all women, non-binary, and genderfluid people into this program and our community with open arms.

>> I can’t join the Backpacking Badass Program right now but I want to join later, how can I stay in the loop for future enrollments?
We open the program for enrollment periodically throughout the year, so there's absolutely no pressure to join right now if you'd prefer to wait.

The best way to stay in-the-know for future enrollment periods is by signing up for our waitlist at shedreamsofalpine.com/waitlist

>> Where is the Backpacking Badass program based? / I live somewhere else.

The program is completely online and questions for coaching calls are collected prior to the call so that anyone who will not be there live can still have their questions answered! This makes it completely accessible regardless of time zone, schedule, or location. The content in the program is applicable to really anywhere in the world. We teach you a core Framework that can be applied over and over again to many types of backpacking trips. This includes how to create proper trip plans and safety plans for wherever you’re hiking or backpacking.

The only content that can be more regional is when we talk about animal safety, since what animals you may encounter will be different based on where you are. However, the aim with this module is to cover the most common wild animal encounters. We talk about bears, moose, snakes, and mountain lions. We even have an in-depth training on Grizzly Bear Safety with a Denali Park Ranger. Additionally, if there's anything you feel stuck on or have more questions about, you can always lean on the coaching calls for extra support!

>> Do you offer scholarships?

We completely understand that the Become an Outdoor Backpacking Badass Program is an investment that not everyone can make. As of right now we do not have scholarships available. We do offer a payment plan option to make it more accessible. A scholarship for the program is definitely in the works for the future. We’ve gifted the program a couple of times as part of a giveaway prize during our enrollment periods, and we want to do more of this in the future.

In the meantime, we’re always creating free content and information through email newsletters, the blog, and social media. Also, the program isn't going anywhere - so if in the future you are ready and able it will be here for you then too :)

>> Am I too old to start backpacking?

You're not too old to get into hiking and backpacking if it's something you're excited about and want to do! You might be surprised - we have women across a WIDE range of ages in the Become an Outdoor Backpacking Badass program and student community :)

If you have specific health/medical concerns, we recommend consulting a medical professional since that is not our realm of expertise. You know your strengths and needs best in regards to setting specific goals. The emphasis in the program is gaining the skills and knowledge to feel reasonably confident and safe on your outdoor adventures, whatever they may be.

Other:

>> Do you do guided trips/in-person events?

We occasionally offer retreat-styled backpacking & adventure trips and mastermind groups, but they are limited, and existing students always get first dibs when we open up a new retreat.

A newer annual offer we have is the Adventurous Reinvention Experience. It’s a 4-month coaching program that ends with a group backpacking trip guided by our team. We do still open this up to our Backpacking Badass students first, but if there are spots left we open it up to our Adventurous Reinvention waitlist, which you can join here.

Stay on our general email list to get information about other opportunities when they arise as well! If you’re not on our list yet, you can get on it by grabbing our free Outdoor Backpacking Starter Kit. :)

>> Do you have a navigation-only course?

We don’t have other courses at this time. As a small team, we are currently dedicating the heart of our resources to our Backpacking Badass students and program. We do cover the backpacking essentials of navigation (including a deep dive into GPS Tech in one of the bonus navigation trainings) in the program, but we don’t currently sell sections of the course separately since they all work together.

Don’t see your question answered here? No worries! We will get back in touch with you as soon as we can.
